Cape Ann Saves Energy
Ken Riehl, CEO of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, talks with Tara Rowe, Energy Efficiency Consultant of Energy Source, about a new initiative “Cape Ann Saves Energy”!
The initiative Cape Ann Saves Energy (CASE) is an energy savings movement that began in March and has been a collaborative effort between the Cape Ann Chamber, Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy, National Grid, Energy Source, and the 4 communities of Cape Ann- Gloucester, Manchester by the Sea, Essex, and Rockport. CASE brings the Cape Ann neighborhoods together to share resources, experiences, and support, on the road to a cleaner Cape Ann.
CASE is focused towards helping small businesses (using 300 Kw or less per month) save money and energy. That being said, CASE is here to help all local businesses reduce unnecessary waste, and will connect you to the program that is right for your business. Business owners may be eligible for incentives of up to 70% the total upgrade and equipment costs. National Grid also offers 0% on-bill financing for those who qualify.
“We work with all different aspects of small businesses- anywhere from your local convenience store, to the local hospital, elementary school, or major manufacturing facility- what is nice is that Cape Ann encompasses all of those types of businesses” (Tara Rowe, Energy Source).
